Welcome to my portfolio
Hey, I’m Floor Kruijtzer, a first-year Industrial Design student at TU/e, originally from Utrecht, The Netherlands.
This portfolio is a space where I share my journey. You’ll find more about my background, my creative process, and the projects I’ve worked on so far and how they’ve helped me grow into the designer I am today.

My Professional Identity
As a designer, I am driven by the interaction between humans and products. I believe a good product is one that communicates its function in an intuitive way. I’m passionate about solving real world problems through user-centred solutions, where interacting with a product would feel natural to the user. My identity as a designer is shaped by an iterative mindset and will to grow and adapt.
One of my strengths is concept development and storytelling. Through prototyping I am able to visualize my ideas and communicate them clearly to others. I can create both low- and high-fidelity prototypes, depending on what's needed at each stage. I am a visual thinker, that's why I prefer working with prototypes. They allow me to see how a product works in context and help identify issues early on.
However, I recognize that I struggle with time management and making sure my goals are feasible. I tend to get carried away in my imagination, which can sometimes lead to ideas that are a little too ambitious or not fully realistic.
In my Personal Development Plan, I’ve set the goal to become more confident in leading design processes. By actively participating in group projects and with the feedback I received from my coaches and peers I’ve gained a lot of insight into how I collaborate and communicate with others. These experiences are helping me getting closer to the designer I aim to be.
Vision
My interest in design started quick recently through photography. I used to take a lot photos of environments that caught my eye, especially places with strong compositions and a central object that stood out. This developed my attention to detail and appreciation for aesthetics.
Over time my curiosity has shifted more toward furniture design. Clean lines, bold shapes and neutral colors catches my attention every time, and this has evolved further into a broader interest in design as a whole.
For now, I'm most drawn to how technology can improve the interaction between humans and products. I believe that design should not only be functional but also create an experience. My goal is to create products that can be used intuitively, without needing elaborate instructions. This way design is also more accessible to a bigger demographic - not only in how it works, but also in how it looks and feels. It comes from my fascination with how subtle designs can communicate function, without using words, audio or visuals.
